You need a law firm that takes cases to trial. Settlement is good but when the offer is not fair, you need a lawyer that is willing to try the case. We try cases. We are trial lawyers. Don’t hire a lawyer or firm that doesn’t have a reputation for trying cases year in and year out.
From the time treatment is complete most workers compensation cases settle within six to nine months. If the case must be tried the average time is more than one year and less than two. The more complex the injury the longer it takes, but ninety percent of cases are complete within this time frame.
Personal Injury – Auto
From the time treatment is complete, most auto cases settle within three to six months. If suit is required the time from lawsuit to jury trial is generally a year. The more complex the case the longer it can take. The more defendants there are in a case, the longer it takes.
Personal Injury – Products Liability, Medical Malpractice and Wrongful Death
While many cases settle before a lawsuit is ever filed, products cases and medical cases generally require a lawsuit. The average time from suit to verdict or settlement is less than two years.
The truth is, most of us don’t want to sue. There is nothing weak about “Forgive and forget.” If it’s not a big deal, don’t make it one.
But sometimes people need to take action. They need money for medical bills. They need to replace the income their families lost while they were unable to work. They need to address a problem that could injure other people.
If it would be wrong not to take legal action, give us a call.
Verdicts change behavior. It is amazing how many times we see corporations putting profits over people. While the employees might care they are often not given the tools or people needed to do the job right. The conscience of a corporation is driven by the bottom line. Jury verdicts are responsible for safer products.
At Wolfgram Law, we handle all cases on a contingency basis. This means that you pay the costs associated with your case only when a recovery is obtained on your behalf. In other words, you don’t pay unless we collect for you.

The actual cost of an injury is far greater than any of us can imagine. The amount of money required to account for the harms and losses suffered includes not just past and future medical treatment but past and future pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life and money to account for the permanent and progressive nature of the injury.
From the judgment or settlement, attorneys’ fees and expenses must be paid. Often healthcare providers or health insurance must be repaid. Once those costs are accounted for, the injured person can be left with a fraction of the actual or real cost to the client for the harms and losses suffered. More money, not less should be included in verdicts and settlements because the injured cannot come back to court when the money runs out.
The problem is not too many lawsuits the problem is too much malpractice. Most victims never call a lawyer. We get calls every week where it is clear that the doctor or hospital made mistakes. We only take the case if there is serious injury or death. There are a huge majority of cases where the damages aren’t bad enough to justify the high cost of a lawsuit.
Doctors have the shortest statute of limitations (2 years in most cases). It is the only type of lawsuit where you must have another doctor verify fault before filing suit. Malpractice cases are very difficult and very expensive cases. Wolfgram & Associates has a very good track record of success in handling malpractice cases. We are on the front lines, and I can tell you from experience, there is a lot more malpractice than the public is aware of.
We return phone calls, generally the same day and almost always within a business day. There are times we are in trial or deposition or on vacation but even then you will get a return call from the office trying to help you and providing a time when the attorney will be able to respond in person to your question.
Most of our cases are on referral from current and former clients. Word of mouth is still the best advertising. It is also the best way to choose a lawyer. Our reputation is what wins us new business, not flooding the airwaves or internet with advertising.
